Professional Historians Australia 2021 Conference - Online Only

The PHA annual conference will be going ahead.

After further deliberations, the conference committee has decided that the PHA  conference will now be delivered as an online conference. The dates will remain the same - that is 18th and 19th September, 2021.   Whilst the organising committee were all hoping for an onsite conference and a chance to meet with everyone in person, the changing COVID landscape has dictated that many may not be able to attend.

However, there are many advantages for our speakers and valued members in participating in an online event. All of the uncertainty of sudden border closures and disrupted travel arrangements is removed and yet the conference is still there for you to enjoy.  Perhaps an even greater advantage is that attendance at the conference will now be at the less expensive online rate, and refunds will be arranged for those who have already registered to attend in person. For changes to registration please email  2020conference@qldhistorians.org.au.

The PHA Conference Bursary and Honest History PHA Bursary will be available for online registration only and have been extended, now that there is more certainty about attendance.

Discussion and questions will be facilitated by a session chair and the conference program will remain in the same session arrangement, as has been previously advertised. Time allocation may vary slightly to allow for shorter breaks between sessions.

Thank you for your continuing support for the Professional Historians Australia Conference. Despite some challenges, the 2021 conference will provide a wonderful opportunity to discuss and consider historical themes and topics.
