Public Consultation – draft: Occupation Standard Classification for Australia (OSCA)
The ABS is seeking feedback on the Occupation Standard Classification for Australia (OSCA)
Consultation is now open on the draft Occupation Standard Classification. PHA previously provided feedback on the definitions for historians, which have now been reclassified into Professional Historian and Academic Historian.
Members may like to review other categories including Heritage Consultant or Archivist. Or provide more for the Historian classification.
Below is info from the ABS on how you can provide feedback:
Public consultation is now open on the ABS Consultation Hub. A feedback guide is available, outlining the simple steps to participate and provide feedback.
A questionnaire is now available on the ABS Consultation Hub where you can provide your feedback regarding occupation level changes to the classification.
This is your final opportunity to provide feedback on the draft classification before it's official release in March 2027.
Feedback we are seeking
All feedback must be provided prior to 18 September, even if it is incomplete, to ensure that it is received in time for consideration.
The ABS is interested in understanding if any of the proposed updates to the classification should be corrected or reconsidered before the change is finalised.
Please focus on the proposed changes presented in the draft. Changes outside the proposed updates may not be included in OSCA given the stage and time-frame of the update.
