To celebrate Queensland's sesquicentenary the Professional Historians Association (Queensland) hosted a two-day conference in Brisbane from 3-4 September 2009. Titled Journeys through Queensland's history: landscape, place and society, the conference focussed on shifting perspectives in Queensland history and historiography, and how these have informed our present and potentially, our future. Proceedings have been published.
Norfolk Island 2010
Islands of History, the 25th Anniversary Conference of the PHA (NSW), was held on Norfolk Island in July 2010.
Proceedings of the Conference are now available. This is a 300-page illustrated book published by Anchor Books Australia containing a collection of papers about the South Pacific presented by historians and archaeologists from Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, New Caledonia and Norfolk Island. Bringing Together. Inaugural PHA Conference, Adelaide, South Australia was held on Friday 5 August – Saturday 6 August 2011, in association with History SA’s 20th State History Conference and to celebrate and coincide with: South Australia’s 175th anniversary of European settlement; the centenary of the transfer of the Northern Territory from South Australia to the Commonwealth; and, the 30th anniversary of the PHA (SA), the first association for professional historians in Australia.
